Dear all,
Lets start and pratice your English..we'll do some conversation and i'll try to correct your sentences into a good grammatical order..
let's start with the topic "communication device, make our lives better or even make them worse"
_/\_
Hi, How are You ? ^-^
i'm fine, by the way what do you think about this topic ? or ,maybe we should change the topic into the more interesting one..?
Not both of them... all devices is Neutral... ;D
Hi Girl, what's your name? :))

That's right as a Buddhist we should be able to speak good english. Because Buddhism is developing fast esp. in UK and US. Imagine that one day, one of the UK monks give dhamma talk in Indonesia using English language. That will be cool gitu lho......
Well, what is the topic today... Communication devices.... Ok. In my opinion, I would say that communication devices will make our lives better or worsen it. Well, why do I mean? I mean that if we are using those devices in the correct ways, they'll ease our lives. But, if we r using them in improper ways, then they'll bring bad effects. As a conclusion, it all according to we as a human.

You wrote that you WAS a GUY. But you are a girl now. So... what's your name when you was a GUY ? Bambang or Joko or else ? ^-^

Roni Hong :))
mr. medho .. i think we can use guy for any gender..
No no no no, i don't agree, i think guy is for a Man and for a girl/woman naon nya ?
that's right if you said guy is a man.. but i said a stupid guy..this is phrase so..it's not about gender but kind of adjective/characteristic it self such as crazy guy, lazy guy, wise guy, etc.
QuoteWell, why do I mean?
Perhaps, it should be "what", not "why".
Word "guy" is generally refers to male person, but it's genderless.
wow this is pretty interesting..~~
Rina Hong..do u teach english?
but you may not use the word genderless , if you mean genderless is not refer to a certain gender so you can also say common

thx for the correction Ms.English..
these days could be recently ??
start joking.. recently only refers to "new new this.." :hammer:
hm.. i think we may use recently too if it as adverb of manner.
correct me if i'm wrong Ms. English
recently isn't only mean 'new new this' i guess

it's joke bro..
recently -> something happened in the past. and stop there.
These days -> happened in the past and still happening now.
these days = "now this" ? :hammer:
maybe "nowadays"? let's Ms. English check it out :P
according to my "peek book"
these days at present : he was drinking far too much these days.
nowadays at the present time, in contrast with the past : the sort of clothes worn by almost all young people nowadays | [ sentence adverb ] nowadays, many people condemn hunting.
Very cool.... :p I learn lots of English grammar and vocab from this forum.....
I guess these days means baru-baru ini, and nowadays means belakangan ini.....
Tell me if i'm wrong. I need guidance too. :)
These Days & nowadays have almost the similar meaning..they are slightly different..
we can also use both of them in the same sentences..
e.g. - Nowadays, people use more than one mobile phone. ( could be)
- These days, people use more than one mobile phone.
Today means Now, at present
Recently means immediately (between the period, the period is longer than Today) :|

Strategies for learning a New Language
1. When you learn, try to use as many senses as possible. the senses are sight, sound, taste,
touch and smell.
e.g. A new Word or phrase, look at it, say it out loud, listen to it, repeat it often.
2. New Word or phrase, study it in context.
Learn it as part of the sentences not just by itself. learning a word in context not only helps you
remember the word in context not only helps you remember the word but the way it is used.
3. Try to learn words that are related to each other. learn new words in groups.
e.g. Word connected with sports, the media, personality and technology.
4. You must use as much language as you can outside. read magazine and newspapers, listen to the radio
or watch TV in the language you are studying.
5. Don't be afraid of making mistakes, if you are making mistakes try to understand the mistake and
correct it.
6. Don't worry about understanding every word, nobody understands every word, try to understand what
you are reading, if you don't understand the general meaning try to build a picture in your mind. Don't
try to,learn everything at once. Break if down, try to space things out over a period of time. do a bit
every week and relax.

Does TTM count ?
I have a true experience about teachers pee standing, students pee running...
When I'm still in Junior High... the students (including me) and our teachers went to TMII...
We wanted to pee but we found no toilets...
So my teacher asked me to go to the nearest place... (a buliding... I don't know what)
My teacher said, "Begini sih sebenarnya gak boleh, tapi klo kepepet ya gapapa", while peeing there...
Then he went away and the students followed my teacher... they (I was not following them) then peeing there...
While they were peeing... suddenly a man got out from the inside of the buildin and shouted "Ngapain lu!"
Then the students ran while peeing...
And that experience completes the proverb "Guru kencing berdiri murid kencing berlari"

Hahaha.... This true story is very entertaining. Is the teacher included in those who run while peeing? Or maybe u r one of the students who run while peeing ;) ;D?

who is freddy krueger?
dunno the connection, what is it?
Upss, sorry. I mean Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th the movie.
Freddy krueger in the movie Nightmare on elm street :))
Well, they are connected anyway. One of the stuff in one scene on Friday 13th TV Series is a ski mask (probably Jason Voorhees ski mask), and rumor says the last item on Friday 13th TV Series is that ski mask. Jason Voorhees met Freddy Krueger on Jason VS Freddy The Movie.
And my favorite is comic series Jason VS Freddy VS Ash.
Who is Ash? Do you remember the movie where Ash cut his own hand, and replace it with chainsaw?
Necromancer.
How about Chucky? Another American horror movie... >:D

Yes i read that manga 'sahabat' its verry good to manipulate people in the world, in scene die and live again remind me like story :)) , are u read Kunimitsu ? That manga tell about politic secretary.
Ah..., the masked "Friend". That is one hell of great manga.

No, I dont read that one. What's it about?
Yeah, I think it's the best manga storyline I ever read. Since Heroes, I started to like similar storytelling style. Full of riddles, unpredictable, and make readers guessing all the time.
But the same thing goes for story like that (almost every story), the bad guy so goddamn difficult go to hell. ;D

sometimes when mister.bule talked, they didn`t even use the right grammatical phrases..just talk. the important thing is, when doing conversation, our opponent understand what we`re talking about.
That was right that they just speak, but all of their sentences ussually correct because they are use to it, like when we speak Indonesian in good grammatical without have to think how's the right grammar should be.
Hmm...
I disagree... You know, many Indonesian can't speak Indonesian properly. They stuck with the awkward local tongue, or lack of something we can called vocabs. It's annoying sometimes, that they referred to something else with some other words. But, you know, we happened to understand it.
I think these situations are very alike with other languagues in many countries, including English. My experienced taught me, the points you want to talk about must be clear, then it'll be easy for others to understand what you want to say.
Well, to tell you the truth, I'm lame in grammer... :hammer:
But till today, I can communicate with peoples around the world and they 'seemed' to be understood. Like I mentioned before, the points you want to talk about must be clear...
Regards,
Huiono
The most common situation that i have been faced is when someone make a funny of us when we speak a broken English, it won't make us have much progress but even slipped down at all...
the point is we've try our best... Our English won't improve at all if we did't practice the speaking, so you must practice speaking whenever you have chances
practice makes perfect.
so... keep talking and writing in english. one of the hardest part is to express things in my mind using english language structure. Sometimes they just don't have simple way to express it in english. doh...
for example, "gua jitak loe kalo kgk mau temenin g", go try it. :))
simple...
I'll punch/smack you if you don't want to company me

What are you guys discussing about?
About racial thing or how to improve English?
Maybe, we could mention our English style. British? American? Australian? Singlish? Nigger (oops)? or Inggeris (Indonesian English. Which also can be said as, broken English)
Please, state one of the English styles if you use an 'unique' one... It'll help us to learn something new, funny or even disgusting...
so now, what about sharing our experience, whether it's funny exp or whatever, as long as using English.
Afro/Hip Hop accent kinda cool for me. Like it...
But it's funny too when Indian and Arabian speak English, their accent is funny.
brits still the best though
Brits for me sounds a bit 'gay' :))
Don't like the accent... especially the West guy who hosted Pimp My Ride UK, he tried to talk in hiphop style with brits accent, thats sucks...
