Fakta realita lain : Thailand negara MAYORITAS BUDDHIS yg dikenal sebagai "SORGANYA LELAKI" how come?

"If the Buddha were here today I think he would say that selling children to prostitution or accept or receive money from prostitution is a sin."

http://depdcblog.wordpress.com/2010/06/26/the-buddhist-project/With the help of the Canadian Embassy in Thailand, Ianic learnt about DEPDC/GMS. She was particularly impressed by the organisation’s focus on prevention to stop the trafficking of children and youth into the sex industry or other exploitative child labour situations. DEPDC/GMS offers free education, vocational training and full-time accommodation for young girls and boys in an effort to achieve these goals.==================================================================================
Bhikkhuni Theravada Thailand Dhammananda (sebelumnya Prof. Chatsumarn Kabilsingh) buka usraa soal prostitusi:
Buddhism does not support prostitutes. On the contrary it points out that prostitution is an unwholesome act. Buddhists do not look down upon prostitutes. If they choose to practice dharma, they have an equal, if not better chance to become enlightened.(Bhikkhuni Dhammananda)

This situation of low wages and employment discrimination helps contribute to the sex industry. Prostitution has been in Thailand for a long time. It became a serious social concern in the 1960s, when the USA designated Thailand as a rest and recreation (R&R) center for its military personnel involved in the war in Vietnam, thus creating new Thai phrases like "rented wife". Many young girls are sold into prostitution today to save their families from bankruptcy due to a poor harvest. Brothel agents from Bangkok visit depressed rural areas in northern Thailand during annual ceremonies that offer "forest robes" to monks in village temples. This turns temples into viewing stations where girls suitable for the flesh trade down south can be selected. Girls as young as seven or eight years old are now being sold. The current Thai government has promised strict measures to root out child prostitution, but action is yet to be seen. Many non-governmental organizations are also working on this issue.

Ven. Mettanando, bhikkhu Theravada Thailand buka suara soal prostitusi:

A woman approached the Buddhist monk and said: "When I was 12, my parents, who were very poor, sold me to a brothel and I have had to do this work ever since. I must beg your forgiveness for my sin."
The monk replied; "There is no need to beg forgiveness from me. It is I and the world who should beg your forgiveness, for we have not done enough to protect you. Please forgive me and the world for having failed to protect you in the first place."
