point saya bukan tentang samatha / vipassana, namun metoda meditasi.

pembahasan lebih jauh tentang kasina di sutta, yaitu perceives the sign of earth, above, below, across without another, limitlessly.

tapi inipun masih sangat bias, pengembangan konsentrasi hanya dalam komentar penterjemah, pembahasan nimitta, masuk nimitta, dll pun baru ditemukan di kitab komentar.

Lepaskan keserakahan akan kesenangan. Lihatlah bahwa melepaskan dunia adalah kedamaian. Tidak ada sesuatu pun yang perlu kau raup, dan tidak ada satu pun yang perlu kau dorong pergi. ~ Buddha ~

Ya memang benar bro, itulah gunanya kitab penjelasan (commentary), ini hanya merupakan salah satu contoh betapa kita memerlukan kitab commentary, karena Tipitaka saja kadang-kadang hanya menjelaskan secara singkat, diperlukan penjelasan lebih jauh.

Demikian penting Commentary tsb, itulah sebabnya dahulu Y.A. Achariya Buddhaghosa secara sengaja diutus oleh guru beliau jauh-jauh dari India ke Srilanka, khusus untuk mengembalikan kitab commentary dari bahasa Sinhala kembali ke bahasa Pali. Karena kitab commentary dari Srilanka adalah satu-satunya versi yang belum tercemar ajaran lain, sedangkan kitab commentary yang di India telah tercampur aduk tak keruan.

Guru Achariya Buddhaghosa bermaksud mencegah agar kitab commentary bahasa Sinhala tidak tercampur aduk juga, karena bila tercampur aduk maka tak adalagi rujukan yang dapat dianggap cukup sahih, dan akan susah dibedakan mana ajaran Sang Buddha dan mana yang bukan.

Tiga hal ini, O para bhikkhu dilakukan secara rahasia, bukan secara terbuka.
Bercinta dengan wanita, mantra para Brahmana dan pandangan salah.

Tiga hal ini, O para Bhikkhu, bersinar secara terbuka, bukan secara rahasia.
Lingkaran rembulan, lingkaran matahari serta Dhamma dan Vinaya Sang Tathagata
