Subject: Vacancies in Oxfam GB - Indonesia

A few minutes can make a world of  difference.

Oxfam GB works in more than 80 countries to provide people with the support they need to overcome poverty and injustice. Here, in Indonesia, we run a busy programme of development, humanitarian and advocacy initiatives. We have clear objectives for change and, by strengthening our country team, we believe we can turn our vision into reality. So why not do your bit too? Think about the difference you could make - the effects of your solutions will be felt for a lifetime.

Campaigns Officer, Indonesia
Jakarta, Indonesia

Be challenged
Indonesia is incredibly susceptible to natural disaster. And although it´s vital that our campaigns raise sufficient awareness to help people in the immediate aftermath, we need to make sure they go beyond that. Because it´s only through sustained campaigning that we´ll be able to achieve long-lasting change. It will be down to you to make that happen by developing a coherent and compelling campaigns strategy. You´ll need to take the lead in everything from organising our campaign works through to expanding our institutions database. Put simply, you´ll help to drive the success of our campaigns and advocacy work throughout Indonesia .

Be involved
We´ll be looking for a degree level education and NGO campaigns experience, particularly in terms of developing and executing a campaigns strategy. You´ll also bring a good understanding of global and national development issues. You should be analytical in your approach with good computer literacy, but it´s just as important that you can communicate effectively and persuade others as part of a multicultural team. Fluency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is important, and you´ll be happy to work flexibly and undertake frequent travel.

From gender-related inequality and discrimination to some of the most devastating disasters in human history, our aim to bring about lasting change in East Asia is increasingly urgent. As well as dealing with technical queries and offering software guidance, you´ll make sure our network runs as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible. That means overseeing maintenance and upgrades, as well as handling installation and training issues. Not to mention reviewing budgets and suggesting areas for improvements.

We´re looking for someone with proven IT support experience and an unwavering record in graduate and professional training with computers. You´ll need to have honed your understanding and knowledge on the latest IT developments and be technically competent across a number of operating systems. Technical ability aside, you´ll also need to communicate with people at all levels - in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.

This is all about taking an integrated approach to Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. One that combines our three core objectives of building resilience, empowering women and influencing decision makers. And which enables the people of Indonesia to prepare for, anticipate and minimise the impact of natural disasters.
