4 different durability test for smartphones
It is just impossible to imagine our daily lives without smartphones. You probably have wondered the following questions once in a while.
Would there be problem to the device if I press the home-button too many times? Or, if I accidently sat on the smartphone, would it break? There are keys and coins in my pocket, would my smartphone get scratches? If it gets wet because of the rain, would it mal-function?
Just don’t worry! Samsung Electronics carries out a variety of test using 7,000 devices so that customers can enjoy the smartphones safely and conveniently.
1. You probably would have wondered whether pressing the home key so many times everyday might cause problems on your smartphone! So, here comes the Key durability test.
Samsung Electronics carries out home key pressing tests every 0.5 second and the pressing pressure is 1kg! The testing pressure is much stronger compared to the normal customer’s strength of pressing the button which is usually between 200-300g. The test goes on until the button is pressed for 200,000 times. To be considered as a safe smartphone, it has to survive the brutal test!
2. Many people would have once in their lives, accidently sits on their smartphones and worry whether it broke due to the weight.
Don’t worry! Our smartphones are strong smartphones which pass the body weight tests. This test tests whether there is any problem when a person sits on a smartphone. The test supposes that a person with 100kg weight sits on a smartphone for 100 times and if it endures, it has passed test at last.
3. Because we use smartphones very often, it is usually the case that we put the phone with coins, and keys together in the pocket. And once in a while, you check to see whether there had been any scratches on the phone. Now, you do not have to worry about it!
Why? Samsung Electronics smartphones have to go through wear-resistant tests where the phones are tested whether there had been any scratches or wears caused by circulating the phones with durable silicon.
Also, Samsung Electronics smartphones’ frontier glass is over 650 in Vickers harness standard, so it is safe from gaining scratches from usual metallic materials, such as keys and coins.
4. Have you ever been in a situation when you had to use a smartphone despite the rain and worried that it would malfunction once it gets wet?
In order to be considered as a smartphone that can be safely used by the customers, Samsung Electronics smartphones have to endure a large amount of rain. It is a test that makes water drops to fall right on the smartphones.
Also, for several special phones, we carry out water-proof tests. It tests whether the phone works normally after 12 liters of water have been targeted on the phone for 35 seconds.
This test has its standard that a customer should be able to use phone calls at least once in a weather of 60ml rain per hour. After watering the smartphones for 10 minutes and once it is confirmed that they work fine, they have passed the tests.
